Album Overview
Man can only ignore the truth for so long before they are compelled to face it. Either you have chosen to follow Him or not! Timothy Brindle will not allow you to ignore the truth on the Great Awakening. This project stops the slumber and forces people, believers and non-believers alike, to wake up. The substance of each lyric is purposely designed to dig deep to the soul of the listener in order to move them. This movement is to the light of Jesus, the God-man. I am telling you that there are some Holy Hip-Hop albums that need to be a part of your collection. I know I've said this a few times in the past, but this time listen. If do not own The Great Awakening already, make a point to click on http://lampmode.com/?page_id=29#discography and buy this album today. Why should I own this you might ask? First of all, if you love God then you'll want to surround yourself with all things that please Him. This album does nothing but praise God and speak the truth of the gospel, period. Second, if you love Hip-Hop then crazy hot beats and absolutely ridiculously sick lyrics will appeal to you. Enough said. Tim Brindle brings in Shai Linne, J. Johnson (formerly J-Silas), and various other artists with a subterranean like foothold in music ministry. When you hear soul stopping messages coupled with instrumentals that massage your eardrums you can not help but tell people. So if you are living out the Great Commission you will absolutely love this record and it will inspire your ministry. No doubt.
Spiritual Significance
It is impossible to not hit the mark when you focus solely on Christ and not yourself. Tim accomplishes this and more. I felt the Holy Spirit while my console pumped tracks, one after the other. The gospel teaches us to love each other as we love ourselves. The message does not change when the conditions change. As I progressed through each song, the teachings were clear. Jesus Christ is the way to eternal life. It's by our faith in Him that we are justified. It's by His grace that we are saved from eternal damnation. Mr. Brindle addresses atheist and believers as he challenges us with these stern biblical concepts. We are also hit with some stories on how to love people no matter what with agape. Not many gospel rap artist convey this message with the precision and accuracy our Lamp Mode comrade is able to exhibit. Within the bars laid down on disc you will be compelled to ask more and more questions about what the bible says on some of the topics covered like racism, humility, and atheism. I think this is the key result someone looking to seek the lost will do. Present information in ways that draw more people. Hopefully if they don't know they will desire to learn more about Jesus. If a rapper can spit lyrics that do that, then he is on point. I know that of all the Christian Hip Hop albums out there, this one stands out as one that will evoke countless conversations with those in the faith and especially those who are not. I even think people who refuse to repent and believe will jump at the chance to dialog about the controversial message they hear coming through your speakers (if you are bold enough to blast this in your ride).
