Future - Wake Up Call

Album Overview

It's not always easy to release an album these days. Let alone a Gospel rap record. But when you challenge people the way Future does on Wake up Call, your future is as bright as the morning star, no pun intended. I mean on the real, it's so tight when God uses evangelists to shake us up. Here's what I mean. This project is set around the metaphor that we as Christians are comfortable in our beds, fast asleep. We're just snoring away, dreaming of playing Madden while picking our feet and eating lemon drops. As we sleep the enemy is plotting against us, 24 hours a day with no rest. While we chill, he lays out his evil plans and by the time we figure it out, it's already too late. Well guess what? Future (I am sure after careful prayer) has the solution. Get up out of that bed and start doing your job. Preach the Gospel!

This debut album will make a huge impact to those bold enough to hear its message. This University of Missouri - St Louis graduate was a frat boy and fell into that sinful lifestyle. So when he calls on believers to learn God's word, serve others, and disciple those in the faith, it's from someone who knows how much better living a Christ-like lifestyle is over a natural one. Man, you have to feel this cat! He does such an excellent job at not just challenging but also encouraging you in the Faith. He's got that Midwest style yet brings a little something different with his slightly staccato-like delivery. His message is always pretty straight forward so you shouldn't get lost in figurative stories. I think my man Future hit this out the park with one hand on the bat and the other hand praising the Holy, pure, and righteous God.

Spiritual Significance

I know that those who read their bibles daily will scream out in joy as these tracks hit their ear drums. Just to hear someone spit licks on such a simple yet regularly overlooked aspect of the Faith. The practical daily walking out of what we should do for the kingdom. Not only that but some of the topics like speaking on the Trinity is key. By taking the time to make it plain that the bible clearly gives us a God-head composed of three persons: God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit, Future helps a lot of believers new to the faith have a clear understanding. I also like the fact that he tackles the issue of acceptance for all believers as well. Too many times traditional churches shun youth wearing their hip hop clothing and speaking slang. This drives them right to the world. Back to a world willing and ready to accept them as they are. I think that's what Jesus was getting at when he said "Whosoever will, let them come..." right? When this rejection happens from so-called Christians it leads to these kids 'doing me' or 'me-ism' and this only fuels the enemy's ability to distract them from the truth. Other key areas Future covers are dating in a Godly manner, preaching the Gospel with boldness, and recognition of our heavenly father and how he's obviously different from our earthly father. All in all, by calling for the church to wake up Future targets how important our faith really is. It is literally the difference between heaven and hell. Get on it man!

Great Album, we need to promote Future the best way we can. I just love His Way. Our young people need to hear that message. I work with a Christian radio station in Africa and will see what i can do.
