Album Overview
"Oh its Fallen, Fallen Fallen..." are the first words that you hear when you pop this album into your CD player (or MP3 for you advanced people). Flame's self-titled debut album explained things like the essentials of our faith, and was Flame's most revealing work of himself out of the three albums that have come out from under him. Then the Holy Spirit working through Flame, brought the album Rewind, delving deep into the theological truths of the Scriptures (the song "Context" explained a semester's worth of Christian foundations, in four minutes!). Now we have Flame's new album titled Our World Fallen, which is part one of a two part release, in which Our World Redeemed will be coming out in the Fall. With the foundation of the gospel message being presented, one must be very excited and praying for the spread of this CD, for many people know that Jesus saved them, but they have no respect for Him, because they don't know the reason why we needed saving anyways, for our hearts deceive us into thinking we are well, but, as the Bible says, man's ways lead to death. While I wasn't too particularly fond of the album cover, for I thought a little more could have been put into it, but the message is powerful.
Spiritual Significance
The abundance of spiritual significance is... significant! The truths being conveyed are weighty and powerful, although Flame's appearance may seem weak (2 Corinthians 10:10). The way Flame weaves the relevance of the genre, to the historicity (big words y'all) of the truth of Jesus, which the Spirit inspired to be penned from Genesis to Revelation, is second to none, but you will never hear that from Flame's mouth, for all glory is done for the Lord! From explaining how our world became a fallen world, to how it affects every culture, and even the difficult question of how can God allow such bad things to happen to "good" people, explaining that no one is good, or righteous. I have always commended Cross Movement for the trust they put on God's infallible Word, and they make me think of Answers In Genesis (www.answersingenesis.org), which upholds what God said about how the earth was created in six days, and there was an actual Flood (once again due to the fall of man, and its wickedness). One song however, speaks of God's goodness in how many people from 50 Cent to Cam'ron got shot and are still alive by the goodness of God, highlighting Romans 2:4, saying that God's goodness should lead to your repentance. Another song that highlights God's goodness is the song "Call Him," in which the chorus explains that we can call Him and He can hear us even though this world is fallen! The mercy of God knows no bounds here, in that we have priority with God, when we are in Christ, which we don't deserve!
Topics Covered
The main thread of the album is that we live in a Fallen World, and we can only come back to God through Jesus Christ, which is the gospel. Flame weaves topics explaining the first half of the gospel, which many in church do not know, or understand the extent of (no man will ever understand the extent that God sacrificed for us)! Topics include:
- Where God Placed You- Based on the verse Acts 17: 26-27, Flame explains how God is in control of where u live and how u got here!
- Shinin'- the Word of God is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path, and helps you shine in a dark world!
- Myspace- the state of the world, has people going on myspace to catch kids and rape them!
- Call Him- in a fallen world, we have the ability to call on Him, and He will hear!
- When You Step- fall in line with God
- Worldview- a diverse beat by DJ Official, wonderfully done in explaining the aspects of sin that has touched different areas around the world.
- Bad Aint Good- Why is it everything that is bad for ya, makes u feel so good (you can break this with Christ!
- We Apologize- a very touching song and something that I have wanted to be done for awhile, and I praise God for putting this on Flame's heart (similar when God placed on Flame's heart to do the song Racial Diversity on Rewind!)
- Goodness To Repentance- God's goodness should lead you to fall on your knees and ask for His forgiveness!
- Desires in Conflict- a song on homosexuality, very deep!
- Heart Stops- "if your rims still spin even after your car stops, then where will you spend eternity after your heart stops." I think that explains it all!
- Goodbye- a song on the reality of murder, and how God's love never fails, and you can trust in Him, although you may have lost someone.
Key Songs
There are so many, but here's a couple:
Goodness To Repentance, Desires in Conflict, Worldview, Goodbye
