Album Overview
Man, I am constantly feeling like I fall short and need to dig in for a deeper relationship with the Father. So I love when I get confirmation through the Holy Spirit that I am dwelling with Him. Right now, with the economy and our social gravitation (in its totality) to me-ism, we need God more than ever. In the depth of our very own essence, we as believers should not rest until we are yearning with desire to do nothing but please Him. With a project like B. Morr and Teddy P's Closer, you cannot turn the music off without feeling that kind of urgent longing for God's fellowship. That is the crux of the message on Closer. This album is simple, clear, and such a refreshing message to hear (I did not intend to rhyme there). It's like a lot of old pastors used to say, "He might not get there when you want Him to, but He's always right on time!" What I think you will find is that every track is put in a particular place for a purpose. There is nothing but strong worship for the glory of the Gospel with these two soldiers for Truth doing the work. I am so floored by the absolute guileless approach to honoring our Lord Jesus the Christ.
So, is the flow hot you ask? That's like asking is a junkyard dog mean or does a secular cat value material possessions. Stop it! B. Morr brings some of the most intelligent, imaginative, and giftedly inspired rhymes in HHH on Closer. He is presenting thoughts and evoking feelings that do what I wish more lyrics would do; B. makes you want to take action. I hear him spit a flow then I want to apply it in my life right then and there.
What about the beats, man? By making this purchase, you will edify your soul with songs using a kind of andante style tempo in the beats; and of course with Teddy P. producing them, they are bound to make you go, "Whoa!" I don't want to get too technical on the instrumentals, so I'll just put it like this: mood. What happens on Closer is it puts your mind, body, and heart in a mood to worship. As the music plays you get a feel for just wanting to act out what the album title suggests, and that is to get closer to your Lord, Jesus the Christ.

Spiritual Significance
Man, if you really want to know, go to the listener's guide to get it straight from the artist's mouth: http://www.bmorr.com/closer.html. I am rather impressed by the heart of these cats. They have really gone that extra mile to give those who desire it, every avenue possible to develop a deeper relationship with the God of the Bible. If you just want to hear the songs you get that, but if that is not enough there is a listener's guide that goes even further to explain the intent behind the music. They address that the real key to being more intimate is praying and reading His word. The music is there as an aide, perhaps, for those less keen on sitting down and gaining understanding through literature. My prayer is that their intent hits the mark and more believers would spend more time in the word as a result of hearing this project. If we ALL did that daily, then there is not doubt we'd jump leaps and bounds to fulfill the Great Commission.
You will hear so many subjects that help you gain insight into knowing the Father. Subjects like how to abide in Him are tackled. This can seem easy on the surface until you hear B. Morr dig down to the core of understanding that faith without works is dead. He chooses to not be self-deceived (James 1:22). I also love how he handles being adopted into God's family. The mere idea that the God of the universe is willing to allow us a chance to be restored to our original purpose and repent to Him is life changing. He does a comprehensive run-down of what that truly means and who is included. How often do you really stop to think about the people who help sharpen you through your walk with Christ? After you get through a track like "Family," then you will have a new appreciation. Closer addresses praise, it addresses old school hymns, and pure reverence for the Lord. What more can I say?
