Basic Doctrinal Studies

Are you a new Christian looking to get yourself rooted in the Word of God? How about a mature Christian who wants to review the basic fundamentals of the faith? Whatever the case might be, as believers, we need to know the basics of our faith and the foundational doctrinal beliefs that we should hold to. The Bible tells us that we should always be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us (1 Peter 3:15) and that we should also study to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15), which is why it is important for us to know what we believe and why we believe it. What good does it do us to be a Christian and not have an understanding of what we believe other than saying you believe in Jesus?
It is with this in mind that I want to share with you a 68 lesson series called "Basic Doctrinal Studies" that was done by Pastor Bob Bolender of Austin Bible Church in Austin, TX. This is a series of sermons that he taught covering ten different areas of study including: bibliology, theology, soteriology, charismatology, and so on. And don't worry if these terms are over your head, these are just the titles, but he does an excellent job of breaking them down so that you can have a firm understanding of what each one means. There is also a study guide available for you to download with the MP3's that you can get in several different formats (Word document, PDF, or a Logos Bible software compatible file). Once you're done with this series, I assure you that you'll have a firm understanding of what the Christian faith is and how to better share it with others.
You can download the MP3s and study guide by visiting http://www.austinbiblechurch.com/basics.asp. And remember, all Christians should be theologians! Also if you are blessed by this teaching series, consider making a donation to Austin Bible Church, since they made this (and other resources) available at no cost to you; you can send it to the address listed on their website, or you can donate directly via our donation page and we will give the donation to them on your behalf (since this is the church that Trailblazin Ministries is now covered under), just put "Austin Bible Church" in the comments section so that we know it is for them.
