MacBook Air
I just read up on the MacBook Air and at 3lbs and 13inch's it seems like a pretty sleek computer. I'm not much of a Mac fan anymore but this looks like the next big thing.
Do you think it's worth $1800?
Its not a power device, its a notebook for those that like acutally working not teathered to a power cord. Its meant for mid to light work, not designing the next movie, or pieceing together a movie - though it can do those things.
Its best value will actually be with the solid state hard drive. There you not just get the benfits of the slim design, but the hard drive uses flash memory, which is considerably less power hungry than a mechanical drive.
Personally speaking, I'd wait a bit till all the hardware bugs are found, but its not a bad device at all.
You're right they have been fixing some of the bugs and adding more memory:

Unless you are doing graphics and such - I would say to STAY AWAY from the MAC. Ugh... PCs have their flaws too, and I am convinced that Vista is next to evil - but they are still the best to go with because of price and compatibility. Don't worry - give it about 5 years or so... PC will come out with a laptop that is just as sleek as that with double the power and a better price. Apple is eye candy - I won't lie.. their stuff is REALLY pretty. But yeah..... they are only good for graphics really.
plus, I think that the Mac OS is confusing as heck to navigate and use. But maybe that's b/c I'm a PC type of guy. lol.
No you're right Mac's are very confusing. I've had one for a while and find new things out about it every day lol.

nah... doesn't pack enough power for me
