Trailblazin Ministries Mission Statement

Trailblazin Ministries was birthed in December 2005 after the Lord spoke to LaRosa Johnson to transform his former web ministry Jesus4Life Ministries, which was originally founded in 1999. The former ministry was founded upon the Word of God, the Holy Bible, and was focused on preaching the gospel and raising up disciples through devotions and Bible studies, as is this ministry. The difference now is that the Lord has placed an emphasis on reaching those who are in and influenced by the hip-hop culture.

As a ministry, Trailblazin Ministries strives to reach the hip-hop culture and bring them to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Once they accept Jesus as Savior, our goal then becomes discipleship and empowering this generation to go back into the hip-hop culture and be a voice of holiness. Our discipleship begins with daily devotions and Bible studies that focus on laying the foundation for a strong relationship with God, which then moves towards equipping them with knowledge of how they can infuse biblical standards in the way they represent within the hip-hop culture.

Our agenda is to show that you can be a part of the hip-hop culture and still be a God-fearing Christian. We uplift and showcase Christ inspired hip-hop music to show that it can glorify the Lord, as well as give examples of how elements of hip-hop can be incorporated into a form of praise and worship unto the Lord. We even want to take it as far as helping to give people the resources to start hip-hop youth groups or hip-hop churches in their local areas so as to maximize the efforts of those trying to bring Christ to the hip-hop culture.

In all that we do, Christ is the head and primary focus. Our intent is not to make hip-hop an idol or religion. Our intent is twofold: 1) to use the elements of hip-hop as a tool for sharing the gospel and bringing lost souls into the Kingdom, and 2) to show Christians how to acceptably live within their current culture and be pleasing in the sight of the Lord. As we have already stated, it all begins with a firm foundation in Jesus Christ and having an ever-growing relationship with Him, and then being moved by the Holy Spirit to reach out and evangelize to a lost generation.

Christians are who we are; hip-hop is the culture that we live in. We desire to make a holy hip-hop culture inside the church that will then spill outside the four walls into the streets to affect change in our local communities. If we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, God will allow this mission and objective to change lives.
